What Is It?
Cheek filler is the same treatment as cheek fillers — hyaluronic acid injection into the mid-face to restore volume and enhance cheekbone definition. Subtle placement can create the appearance of higher cheekbones and a more youthful, lifted facial structure without surgery.
How It Works
Structural filler is injected deep to the facial fat compartments or onto the periosteum (bone surface) to add solid foundation and lift. Superficial filler can also be used in the skin to improve surface texture and reflectivity. A cannula approach reduces bruising risk.
Realistic Results
Refreshed, lifted mid-face with more defined cheekbones. Results appear immediately and finalise as swelling resolves over 2 weeks. Duration is 12–18 months on average with optimal results maintained through regular touch-up appointments.
Recovery
Minor swelling and firmness for 3–5 days. Avoid sleeping on the face for the first night. Makeup can be applied after 24 hours to cover any bruising.
Risks & Complications
- !Temporary swelling and bruising
- !Palpable firmness if high-density filler is used
- !Risk of skin changes if placed near vascular structures
- !Accumulation with over-treatment
- !Migration causing asymmetry over time
Red Flags — Choose a Clinic Safely
- ⚑Provider applies very thick filler superficially under the skin rather than deep over bone
- ⚑No anatomical assessment before treatment
- ⚑Repeat treatments every few months creating excessive volume
- ⚑Provider cannot describe what type of product is most appropriate for the mid-face
Questions to Ask Before Booking
- Will the filler be placed deep, mid-face, or superficially?
- How do you prevent an over-filled, pillow-like appearance?
- How does your filler technique differ for someone wanting lift vs. volume?
- What is the best follow-up interval for my cheek treatment?
- Can this be dissolved easily if I am unhappy?
