What Is It?
Scrotoplasty reshapes or reconstructs the scrotum, addressing issues such as penoscrotal webbing (where the scrotal skin extends along the underside of the penis), a large or pendulous scrotum, or the need for reconstruction after trauma or gender-affirming surgery.
How It Works
Excess scrotal skin is excised and the wound is closed with sutures, or a Z-plasty is performed to release penoscrotal webbing and redistribute tissue. The procedure is done under local or general anaesthesia depending on the extent of correction needed.
Realistic Results
A more proportionate scrotum with improved appearance and, if penoscrotal webbing was present, improved visual penile length. Results are permanent.
Recovery
Swelling and bruising for 1–2 weeks. No sexual activity for 4 weeks. Light activities can resume in 3–5 days.
