What Is It?
A brow lift (forehead lift) repositions a low or sagging brow to a more youthful position, smooths forehead creases, and reduces the frown lines between the eyebrows. It is often performed alongside blepharoplasty since brow descent can cause excess upper eyelid skin that surgery alone cannot fully address.
How It Works
The endoscopic approach uses several small scalp incisions and a camera to lift and fix the brow in a higher position using internal sutures or small anchors. The open or coronal approach uses a single incision across the top of the scalp. Both approaches elevate the forehead tissue and reposition the brows.
Realistic Results
The forehead is smoother, the brows are higher and more arched, and the eye area appears more open and refreshed. Results typically last 5–10 years, after which the brow may gradually descend again with ageing.
Recovery
Temporary numbness and itching of the scalp are common for several weeks. Bruising around the forehead and eyes resolves in 2–3 weeks. Patients typically return to social activities in 10–14 days. Hair may thin around incision sites temporarily.
