What Is It?
A mini facelift is a less invasive version of the traditional facelift that targets early jowling, mild cheek sagging, and loss of jaw definition. It uses shorter incisions and is suited to patients in their late 30s to early 50s who have early but noticeable facial laxity not yet requiring a full facelift.
How It Works
Short incisions are made in front of and around the ear. The SMAS layer is tightened through a limited dissection, and excess skin is removed. Because the dissection plane is more superficial and the incisions are shorter, the procedure is typically done under local anaesthesia with sedation and takes 1–2 hours.
Realistic Results
The jaw line is more defined, jowls are reduced, and the lower face appears lifted and refreshed. Results are natural-looking and typically last 5–7 years. The procedure does not address the neck as comprehensively as a full facelift.
Recovery
Downtime is shorter than a full facelift — most patients return to light activity in 1–2 weeks. Bruising and swelling resolve in 10–14 days. Scars around the ear fade significantly over 3–6 months.
